近日，从微软方面了解，宣布服务器软件包括Windows Server 2012 R2、虚拟化软件Hyper-V及系统管理软件System Center 2012 R2等对Linux操作系统的支持。***一代Windows Server OS及相关服务器软件产品，针对云计算而设计，为客户提供单一云端基础架构、单一组系统管理工具来成为执行Linux操作的***基础架构。

据了解，Windows Server 2012中的Hyper-V加入名为Linux Integration Services(LIS)乃是***版服务器操作系统的关键所在。Hyper-V中的LIS内含包括Linux VM的即时备份和即时迁移等功能，使微软虚拟化软件运行Windows VM与运行Linux VM一样流畅。配合System Center 2012 R2，让部署在Windows Server 2012 R2的云端环境得以同时执行及管理Windows及Linux客户端虚拟机。
Hyper-V已支持SUSE
为了顺应云计算的潮流，支持多元操作系统平台是发展趋势。微软Windows Server 2012 R2及Hyper-V能吸引Linux的爱好者上门，而非转向对手VMware。不过其实早在Windows Server 2008 R2时代，Hyper-V已初步支持SUSE及Red Hat Linux。
另外，LIS为微软加入Linux后，在Red Hat Enterprise Linux、SUSE Linux、Ubuntu、CentOS及Oracle Linux都内建LIS。Server OS对Linux支持，管理软件System Center 2012 R2 SP1某些组件也都将支持Linux。
Windows Server 2012 R2与System Center 2012 R2正式版都预计会在年底出炉。
