Suse是众多Linux发行套件之一。SuSE可以说是Linux发布商中的老牌公司，可是现在已经被NOVEll收购了，NOVELL利用suse使其公司本身焕发出勃勃的生机，成为在linux方面可以与redhat抗衡的企业。
同时NOVEll也模仿redhat成立opensuse项目，用户可以免费的下载使用,与NOVELL发行的suse专业版的区别是少了一些商业软件。他们推出的opensuse 11.3号称是可以媲美Windows的Linux发行版，随带的YaST管理工具的功能也非常的强大，新手建议使用。
